Pig Latin Translator
Pig Latin is a playful language game in which English words are altered according to a simple set of rules. Words beginning with a consonant cluster have that cluster moved to the end of the word with 'ay' appended, while words beginning with a vowel simply have 'way' added at the end. The result is an amusing, coded form of English used for centuries as a secret language among children.
This translator converts any English text to Pig Latin instantly, preserving punctuation, capitalisation, and spacing so the output mirrors the structure of the original sentence. It is useful for entertainment, teaching phonics, exploring linguistic patterns, or generating whimsical creative content.
How it works
If word starts with a vowel (a, e, i, o, u): append 'way' → e.g., apple → appleway. If word starts with one or more consonants: move the consonant cluster to the end and append 'ay' → e.g., string → ingstray.
