Square Footage Calculator

Square footage is the most common measurement used in real estate, construction, and interior design to describe the area of a room or space. To calculate it, simply multiply the length by the width of the space in feet. If you have multiple identical rooms, enter the quantity to get the combined total area automatically.

This calculator also supports metric measurements in square meters (m²) and can optionally compute your total project cost when you provide a price per square foot or square meter — making it easy to estimate flooring, tile, carpet, paint, or any other material that's sold by the unit area.

How it works

Area = Length × Width × Quantity. If the unit is feet, the result is in ft²; multiply by 0.092903 to convert to m². If the unit is meters, multiply by 10.7639 to convert to ft².
