Text to Morse Code Converter

Convert text to Morse code and Morse code to text. Bidirectional converter with custom dot/dash separators.

Text to Morse Code Converter

The Text to Morse Code Converter lets you translate any text into Morse code and vice versa. Morse code represents letters and numbers as sequences of dots (.) and dashes (-), separated by spaces. Words are separated by slashes (/).

Convert in both directions: type plain text to get Morse code, or paste Morse code to decode it back to text. Customize the dot and dash characters to use any symbols you prefer, such as * and # or any other combination.

How it works

Each letter and number maps to a unique Morse code pattern defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Letters within a word are separated by spaces, and words are separated by slashes. The conversion is case-insensitive.

Use cases

  • Learning and practicing Morse code for amateur radio
  • Encoding secret messages for games and puzzles
  • Teaching communication history and telegraphy
  • Decoding Morse code from movies, books, or challenges
  • Creating Morse code art or jewelry patterns
